Taurus Full Moon Partial Lunar Eclipse October 28, 2023

Updated: Oct 26, 2023

Taurus Full Moon Partial Lunar Eclipse • October 28, 2023 • 1:24pm PST

During this Full Moon, the Earth will come directly between the Sun and the Moon, casting a partial shadow on the Moon's surface. This alignment leads to a temporary darkening or reddening of the Moon, depending on the atmospheric conditions at the time. Regions seeing at least some parts of the eclipse include Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, parts of North America, Much of South America, Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean, Arctic, and Antarctica.

This is the last Lunar eclipse in the sign of Taurus on the Taurus-Scorpio axis (for the next 9 years) urging us to put the finishing touches on improvements we have been undertaking in theses areas of life. From January 2022 through much of July 2023, the north node moved through Taurus- the sign of personal resources, self-worth, material form and individual value, with the south in Scorpio-the sign of deep transformation, purifying emotions, others resources and power. This is the culmination point of that nodal cycle, as well as the culmination for the Libra New Moon Solar Eclipse that occurred on October 14.

This is a North Node Lunar Eclipse that can bring in something tangible, yet unexpected. All eclipses are unpredictable in their affects and as this is a partial eclipse, the instability and effects are not as typically intense as a total eclipse. With that said, there are some very potent aspects in the sky at this lunation that bring out both the peace loving essence of Taurus as well as it’s bull-fighting nature. If you happen to see red around this time-remember you get to choose how you want to approach the situation. All’s fair in love and war.

A lunar eclipse in Taurus tends to heighten the magnetic forcefield of the earth, especially in areas along its path of visibility. Those with planets or significant points close to 5° of Taurus or the other fixed signs; Scorpio, Leo and Aquarius may feel the effects of this event more strongly than others. Taurus governs the throat and rules over ears, nose, thyroid, lower jaw and thymus gland. It also partners with Scorpio, governing the reproductive and elimination systems of the body. Taurus represents the physical body, so you may want to keep its functions in mind during this time, and remember that moderation is key. Constipation and toxicity are not uncommon during a Taurus Eclipse.

Taurus is a fixed earth sign and correlates with nurturing desires, finding stability and appreciating the beauty of the world around us. It encourages embracing our senses and cultivating a sense of security and self-worth. The energy of this sign is known to be stubborn, dependable and hard working. This eclipse encourages self reflection on values, finances, relationships, and the things that bring us comfort and sustainability.

Venus In Virgo rules this Moon.

The previous New Moon Solar Eclipse was also ruled by Venus in Virgo. This emphasizes the attention to detail, and a strong focus on health and well-being during this Eclipse season. If you didn’t get the memo at the New Moon, this Full Moon reinforced the importance of nurturing and caring for ourselves and others, with the emphasis on self-care and the pursuit of balance, health and wellbeing. WhenVenus transits through the practical and detail-oriented sign of Virgo, it encourages focusing on the finer aspects of life, paying attention to the details, refining r skills, and striving for perfection in various areas of life.

Venus trine Full Moon, Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus

Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and harmony, symbolizing personal relationships, aesthetic sensibilities, and values not only rules this Moon- it also makes a flowing connection with it. Venus also rules over and is in harmonious relationship with Jupiter, the planet of expansion, opportunity and abundance and Uranus, the planet of surprises, innovation and change. This favorable configuration blesses this event with a blend of practicality, emotional depth, expansion, and inventiveness that can liberate you from whatever needs to go and explore new avenues of self-expression in our relationships and artistic pursuits.

Venus Opposite Neptune in Pisces

This opposition can bring about a sense of tension between the practical, grounded energies of Virgo and the ethereal, imaginative nature of Pisces. Venus in Virgo emphasizes a need for order and organization in matters of the heart. On the other hand, Neptune in Pisces urges us to connect with our spiritual side, fostering empathy, compassion, and a desire to dissolve boundaries in our connections with others. During this transit, it's essential to strike a balance between the tangible and the intangible, the logical and the imaginative.

Moon Opposite Sun, Mercury and Mars in Scorpio

This configuration dials up the intensity of this Lunar Eclipse. The Taurus Moon has a predilection towards stability, material security, and a deep connection to the physical world. It signifies our values, material possessions, and the pursuit of comfort and pleasure. In contrast, the Planets in Scorpio are focused on transformation, exploration of hidden truths and the willingness to face our deepest fears and desires. This opposition intensifies the energies of this polarity, pushing a potential confrontation of our deepest emotions, desires, and fears.

The Sun in Scorpio shines a light on the hidden aspects of our lives, urging a deep dive into the depths of our psyche to uncover truths that may have remained concealed. On the Suns team, we have Mercury in Scorpio which brings sharpness to mental faculties, making it easier to explore complex subjects and have pointed conversations. Mars in Scorpio provides the courage and determination to pursue goals with unwavering focus, but also stirs passions and desires, potentially leading to power struggles or resistance. On the Moons team, we have Jupiter, emphasizing and expanding the Moons desires for creature comforts, and Uranus bringing disruption and revolution to the mix.

In essence, this configuration generates a pivotal moment for self-discovery and transformation. It challenges us to confront the things we may have denies or tried to hide, and find a harmonious equilibrium between our need for stability and our thirst for personal evolution. Add the Eclipse in and you may want to be prepared for a power surge of intensity, revelations, and the potential for significant transformation shifts in various aspects of life.

Summary

This promises to be a most interesting and transformative partially Eclipsed Full Moon-with an emphasis on letting go. Whatever change and release needs to happen in your life will likely get triggered by this lunation, though not everyone will experience the same levels of intensity. North Node Eclipses can bring fortuitous events, challenges or both. This is wild card energy at its finest. Let us be reminded that the cosmos are a guide towards personal and collective evolution, and welcoming change is always easier than resisting it.
